The 5M LED Icicle Christmas Lights are an 80 LED icicle set for gutters, porch roofs, window heads and fence rails. The LEDs hang in dropping strands of varying length, which gives the icicle effect rather than a flat line of light. The set comes in warm white or cool white. It runs on 220 to 240V and draws 8.8W. Up to 12 sets connect together on easy coupler connections, so a long gutter run needs one socket. The lights are suitable for outdoor and indoor use and can stay out for the season.

Fitting Outdoors
- Clip along a gutter line, a porch edge, a window head or a fence rail.
- Power the first set from an outdoor rated socket, ideally IP66 rated with a lockable cover, not a lead run out through a window.
- Keep plugs and couplers off the ground.
A weatherproof box such as the DRiBOX keeps plugs, couplers and timers dry through an Irish winter. Those connections are what usually fail first on a Christmas display.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many icicle light sets can I join together?
A: Up to twelve, using the easy coupler connections. That gives a 60 metre run from a single socket. Do not exceed twelve, because the coupler and the supply are rated for that limit.
Q: Warm white or cool white, which looks better on a house?
A: Warm white for a softer, traditional look that sits well against brick, render and stone. Cool white is crisper with a blue tone and shows up strongly against a dark or grey house. Both are 80 LEDs on the same 5 metre run.
Q: Can they be left outside all season?
A: Yes. They are suitable for outdoor use. Keep the plug and coupler connections off the ground and inside a weatherproof box, because those usually fail before the lights do.
Q: How do I power them safely outside?
A: From a proper outdoor socket, ideally IP66 rated with a lockable cover, not a lead run out through a window. Put any plugs, couplers or timers inside a weatherproof connection box.
Q: Are they expensive to run?
A: No. The whole 5 metre set draws 8.8W, which is less than a single old fashioned bulb. A full evening costs very little even with several sets joined.
Q: Can I put them on a timer?
A: Yes. A plug in timer or a WiFi smart plug both work, so the lights come on at dusk and go off overnight. A WiFi smart plug can be changed from your phone.
