There is no controller and no flash setting on these. A steady, even light is what suits a commercial frontage or a long boundary, and it is what most customers want once the novelty of flashing wears off. If you do want settings, the multi function sets carry a controller instead.

Planning a long run

Measure first and buy the lengths that add up, rather than joining a string of short sets. Feed the run from a properly installed outdoor socket, keep every coupler off the ground, and put the plug and any timer inside a weatherproof connection box such as the DRiBOX. On a commercial frontage that is the difference between a display that lasts the season and one that trips out in the first week of rain.

Q: How long a run can I make?
A: Up to 2400 LEDs, which is eight of the 300 LED sets or twenty four of the 100 LED sets. That is 240 metres from a single socket, far more than most frontages need.

Q: What is the difference between these and the multi function sets?
A: These are static with no controller. The multi function sets have eight settings with memory and come in red, blue and multicolour as well as the two whites.

Q: Are they suitable for a shop front?
A: Yes, and static warm white is the usual choice for commercial frontages. It reads as considered rather than cluttered, and it does not distract drivers the way a flashing display can.

Q: Can I cut a set to length?
A: No. These are sealed sets with moulded connectors. Buy the lengths that suit the run rather than trying to shorten one.

Q: Do I need an electrician?
A: Not for the lights, they plug in. The outdoor socket does need to be properly installed, and that is electrician work.
