Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can a 2 way switch be used as a 1 way switch?
A: Yes. A 2 way switch can be wired as a standard one way switch, so it suits both single switch circuits and lights switched from two places.
Q: How many gangs do I need?
A: One gang for each light or lighting circuit you want to control from that spot. This switch comes in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 gang.
Q: What is the current rating of this light switch?
A: 10 Amp. That is the usual rating for domestic lighting switches.
Q: Is there a matching satin chrome socket?
A: Yes. The Claddagh Collection satin chrome double pole socket with black insert comes in 1 gang and 2 gang 13A versions.
Q: Do I need an electrician to fit a light switch?
A: Yes. Changing a light switch is work on fixed wiring, so in Ireland it should be done by a registered electrician.
