The Optimum OP-SBSW is a captive-tappet 7-day timeswitch, for schedules that differ across the week. If you want the heating on later at weekends, or a shop sign running to different hours on Sundays, a 7-day dial does what a 24-hour timer can't.

It mounts directly over a single pattress box, so it fits a standard back box on the surface or in the wall. The dial drives volt-free changeover contacts, meaning it can switch a separate circuit rather than carrying the load itself.

A: Yes. It wires into a fixed circuit and mounts over a standard pattress box, so it should be installed by a registered electrician in accordance with I.S. 10101.

Q: Can I use it for fluorescent or discharge lighting?
A: Not directly. Discharge lighting must be switched through a suitably rated contactor. Your electrician will size this for the load.
