The Evolec Nova is a round LED bulkhead light with selectable 9W, 12W or 18W output and switchable 3000K, 4000K or 6500K colour temperature. It gives 1100, 1500 or 2000 lumens depending on the setting. It is rated IP65, so it can go on a fully exposed outside wall. It measures 230mm in diameter and 50mm deep. It runs on 240V. Black and white interchangeable frames are both supplied in the box. It is cable free, which makes it quicker to put up. It is not dimmable. The LEDs are integrated and rated for 30,000 hours.

How the Switches Work
Multiwatt means there is a switch on the fitting that sets it to 9W, 12W or 18W, giving 1100, 1500 or 2000 lumens. You choose the output at installation, so the same fitting suits a small hall and a garage. It is set once and left. Switchable CCT means a second switch sets the colour of the light to 3000K warm white, 4000K cool white or 6500K daylight. Between the two switches one product covers nine combinations.
Where to Use It
- Halls, landings and stairwells.
- Utility rooms and garages.
- Porches and back doors.
- Exposed outside walls, since at IP65 it is rated for a fully exposed position, not only a sheltered one.
See our guide on bulkheads, floodlights and wall lanterns if you are deciding between types.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Which colour temperature should I pick?
A: 3000K warm white for halls, landings and anywhere domestic. 4000K for utility rooms and porches. 6500K daylight for garages and workshops where you want to see detail clearly.
Q: Can this go on a fully exposed outside wall?
A: Yes. It is IP65, which is dust tight and protected against water jets, so it is rated for wind driven rain rather than only for a sheltered porch.
Q: Do I have to choose black or white when ordering?
A: No. Both frames are supplied in the box and they are interchangeable, so you decide on site.
Q: Is 2000 lumens bright enough for a garage?
A: For a single car garage, yes, particularly at 6500K on the 18W setting. For a larger space or a workshop where you are working on detail, use two fittings or step up to a batten, which spreads light along a length rather than from one point.
Q: Can it be dimmed?
A: No. This fitting is not dimmable. The wattage switch is how you set the level.
Q: Do I need an electrician?
A: Yes. A bulkhead is fixed wiring, so it should be connected by a registered electrician on a properly protected circuit.
Q: Do the LEDs need replacing?
A: No. The LEDs are integrated and rated for 30,000 hours, so there is no lamp to change. At a few hours a day that is many years of use.
