Zappi GLO 7kW Tethered EV Charger Black

Free delivery from the first euro on the Zappi GLO 7kW tethered EV charger in black. The GLO is the newest unit in the myenergi zappi range. It drops the screen in favour of a single glowing status light, so it sits quietly on a house wall instead of announcing itself, and it comes with a 6.5m Type 2 lead already attached.

Charge the car on your own solar

If you have solar PV or a home battery, the GLO can put surplus generation into the car rather than exporting it. You decide how much grid power it is allowed to top up with, from fully green through to a fast charge on whatever is available. Dynamic load balancing watches the whole house and holds the total inside the limit of your incoming supply, so the charger eases off when the shower and the oven are both running.

Cheap rate charging and access control

Charging can be pinned to the cheap hours of a night rate tariff from the myenergi app, which also covers scheduling, monitoring and firmware updates. WiFi, Bluetooth and 868MHz radio keep it connected, and it will talk to the rest of the myenergi range if you already run an eddi or a harvi. RFID tap to charge supports up to 126 users, which is the useful part on a shared driveway, an apartment space or a small commercial yard.

Zappi GLO or Ohme Home Pro?

These are the two home chargers we carry and they suit different houses. The GLO is the one if you have solar PV or a home battery, because it can divert surplus generation into the car instead of exporting it, and it is also the one if you need RFID access control for more than one driver. The Ohme Home Pro is the one if your saving comes from your electricity tariff, or if the charge point is going somewhere your WiFi will not reach, because it runs on its own GSM sim. The SEAI grant, in the right order

The SEAI home charger grant is worth up to 300 euro, and the order you do things in matters. SEAI will not pay for anything done before the start date on your Letter of Offer, so apply before you order. Get your installation quote first, apply for the grant, wait for the Letter of Offer, then buy the charger. Once the offer issues you have six months to complete the work and send in the Payment Request Form. The charger must be on the SEAI Smart Charger Register and the installation must be by a Safe Electric Registered Electrical Contractor. Check the current terms on seai.ie before you commit.

Installation

An EV charge point is not a DIY job. It must be installed by a registered electrical contractor and certified under I.S. 10101, and the earthing arrangement and the incoming supply both need to be assessed on site first. The 6mA DC residual current detection is built into the unit, which usually saves fitting a separate DC sensitive RCD in the board.
