A mains powered cluster run with 480 LEDs packed into 10 metres. Where an ordinary string gives you separate points of light, a cluster gives a dense continuous line, and because this one runs off the mains rather than a transformer it joins straight onto the rest of a 230V display.

Density without a transformer

This is the set to use when you want the look of a cluster garland but you are already running mains sets and do not want a separate low voltage supply in the middle of the run. White cable, warm white light, and it connects into runs of up to 2400 LEDs.

Where it works

Along a porch beam, around a door frame, down a bannister or through a small tree, anywhere the light needs to read as a rope rather than a row of dots. Feed it from a properly installed outdoor socket and keep connections dry inside a weatherproof box such as the DRiBOX.

Q: How is this different from the low voltage cluster garland?
A: The garland carries 720 LEDs and runs off a transformer. This runs straight off the mains at 480 LEDs, so it joins onto an existing 230V run without a separate supply.

Q: Does it flash?
A: No, it is static. There is no controller.

Q: How many can I join?
A: Up to 2400 LEDs in a run, which is five of these sets from one socket.

Q: Is white cable a problem outdoors?
A: On a painted fascia or a white door surround it disappears. Against a hedge or dark brick it shows in daylight, and the black cable net or a dark cable set is the better choice there.
